TE803
- Variant & for characteristic & contains bottom nodes which are not values ?The SAP error message TE803 indicates that there is an issue with a variant in the context of characteristics and their values in a variant configuration scenario. Specifically, the error message states that the variant contains bottom nodes (i.e., nodes that do not have any further sub-nodes) that are not valid values for the characteristic in question.
Cause:
- Incorrect Configuration: The variant may have been incorrectly configured, leading to the inclusion of nodes that do not correspond to valid values for the specified characteristic.
- Hierarchy Issues: The characteristic may be part of a hierarchy where certain nodes are expected to have valid values, but the current configuration includes nodes that do not meet this requirement.
- Data Integrity Issues: There may be inconsistencies in the master data or configuration data that lead to the presence of invalid nodes.
Solution:
- Check Characteristic Values: Review the characteristic values associated with the variant. Ensure that all bottom nodes are valid values for the characteristic.
- Review Configuration: Go to the configuration settings for the variant and verify that the hierarchy and relationships between characteristics and values are correctly defined.
- Adjust Hierarchy: If the characteristic is part of a hierarchy, ensure that the hierarchy is correctly structured and that all nodes are valid.
- Data Validation: Perform a data validation check to identify any inconsistencies or errors in the configuration data. This may involve checking the configuration profiles and the values assigned to characteristics.
- Recreate the Variant: If the issue persists, consider recreating the variant from scratch to ensure that it is correctly set up.
