SAP Error Message - Details

  • Message type: E = Error

  • Message class: TB - SM31 table maintenance messages

  • Message number: 849

  • Message text: Your selection conditions correspond to at most one entry

  • Show details Hide details
  • What causes this issue?

You specified selection conditions for a single entry and not for a key
    area.

    System Response

The system will, at most, select one entry, because you have not
    specified a key area.

    How to fix this error?

If you want to select a key area, enter a key pattern that is generic
at the right-hand end. This means that the generic search character '*'
may only occur as the last character in the key pattern (like the key
pattern for a transport request entry). Note also that an empty space
before the entire key pattern is interpreted as a sequence of spaces,
and not as a placeholder for any characters.

    Procedure for System Administrators

The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.
