TA347
- Warning: Source client has logical system, target client does not ?The SAP error message TA347, which states "Warning: Source client has logical system, target client does not," typically occurs during data transfer processes, such as when using the Transport Management System (TMS) or during client copy operations. This warning indicates that the source client (the client from which data is being transferred) has a defined logical system, while the target client (the client to which data is being transferred) does not have a logical system assigned.
Cause:
- Logical System Assignment: In SAP, each client can be assigned a logical system name, which is used for various purposes, including data transport and integration with other systems. If the target client does not have a logical system defined, it can lead to inconsistencies or issues during data transfer.
- Configuration Issues: The target client may not have been properly configured to include a logical system, which is often necessary for certain operations, especially in a landscape with multiple systems.
Solution:
To resolve this warning, you can follow these steps:
Assign a Logical System to the Target Client:
- Go to transaction code
SCC4
(Client Administration).- Select the target client that is generating the warning.
- Ensure that the "Logical System" field is filled in. If it is empty, you need to assign a logical system to the target client.
- If a logical system does not exist for the target client, you can create one using transaction code
BD54
(Maintain Logical System).Check Transport Routes:
- Ensure that the transport routes are correctly configured in transaction code
STMS
(Transport Management System). This includes verifying that the logical systems are correctly defined and that the transport routes are set up properly.Re-attempt the Data Transfer:
- After assigning a logical system to the target client, re-attempt the data transfer or operation that triggered the warning.
