  • What is the cause and solution for SAP error message T9111 - System time zone cannot be modified; time zone is defined in other client ?

The SAP error message T9111 indicates that the system time zone cannot be modified because it is defined in another client. This typically occurs when you attempt to change the time zone settings in a client that is not the original client where the time zone was defined.

    Cause:

    1. Client-Specific Settings: In SAP, certain settings, including the time zone, are client-specific. If the time zone is already defined in another client, you cannot change it in the current client.
    2. Cross-Client Configuration: The time zone is often set at the client level, and if it is already configured in a different client, the system restricts changes to prevent inconsistencies.

    Solution:

To resolve this issue, you can follow these steps:

    1. Check the Current Client: Verify which client you are currently logged into and check the time zone settings in that client.
    2. Access the Correct Client: If you need to change the time zone, log into the client where the time zone is defined. You can do this by switching to the appropriate client using the client number.
    3. Change Time Zone in the Correct Client:
      • Go to transaction code SCC4 to check the client settings.
      • If you have the necessary authorizations, you can change the time zone in the correct client.
    4. Consult with Basis Team: If you do not have access to the client where the time zone is defined, or if you are unsure about making changes, consult your SAP Basis team. They can assist in making the necessary changes or provide guidance on the correct procedure.
    5. Documentation: Ensure that any changes made are documented and communicated to relevant stakeholders to avoid confusion in the future.

    Related Information:

    • Transaction Codes:
      • SCC4: Client Administration
      • RZ10: Profile Parameter Maintenance (to check system parameters related to time zone)
    • SAP Notes: Check for any relevant SAP Notes that may provide additional context or solutions related to time zone settings.
    • User Authorizations: Ensure that you have the necessary authorizations to make changes to client settings.

By following these steps, you should be able to address the T9111 error and modify the time zone settings as needed.
