Message type: E = Error
Message class: STC_TASK - Task related Messages
Message number: 079
Message text: Task object exists and is syntax error free now
The task object &V1& did not exist formerly or caused syntax errors
during instantiation. The task is valid now and can be used.
Mind, that the task is created now and not at a time when all other
tasks have been created.
If the task is in scope, check the task configuration (parameters and
scope definition) if they are still valid before the task is executed.
If the task cannot be set in scope (again), e.g. because the task list
run processing has been continued with one of the next tasks, the task
cannot be executed anymore.
The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

STC_TASK079
- Task object exists and is syntax error free now ?The SAP error message STC_TASK079 indicates that a task object (usually a transport request or a task) already exists in the system and is syntax error-free. This message typically arises during the execution of a background job or a transport process when the system detects that the task you are trying to create or modify already exists.
Cause:
- Duplicate Task: The task you are trying to create or modify already exists in the system.
- Syntax Check Passed: The existing task is syntax error-free, meaning it has been validated and is ready for further processing.
- Transport Request Issues: This can occur during the transport of objects when the system finds that the task is already present in the transport directory.
Solution:
Check Existing Tasks:
- Use transaction code SE01 or SE09 to check for existing transport requests and tasks. Look for the task that matches the one you are trying to create or modify.
Use Existing Task:
- If the task already exists and is valid, consider using it instead of creating a new one. You can add your changes to the existing task.
Delete or Release Task:
- If the existing task is not needed, you can delete it or release it if it is in a modifiable state. Be cautious with this approach, as it may affect other developers or processes.
Check for Locks:
- Ensure that there are no locks on the task that might prevent you from modifying or using it. You can check for locks using transaction SM12.
Consult Documentation:
- Review SAP documentation or notes related to transport management and task handling for any specific guidelines or best practices.
Contact SAP Support:
