- Objects to be changed from external namespaces: ?The SAP error message SPRX108 indicates that there are objects in your SAP system that are being modified or created in an external namespace, which is not allowed under certain conditions. This typically occurs when you are trying to make changes to objects that are not part of the standard or your own development namespace.
Cause:
- Namespace Restrictions: SAP has a defined namespace for standard objects (like SAP's own development objects) and allows custom development in specific namespaces (like Z or Y). If you attempt to modify or create objects in an external namespace (like SAP's standard namespace), you will encounter this error.
- Transport Layer Issues: If you are working in a transport layer that does not allow changes to certain namespaces, this error can occur.
- Development Class Issues: The development class of the object you are trying to change may not allow modifications in the external namespace.
Solution:
- Check Namespace: Ensure that you are working within the correct namespace. If you are developing custom objects, they should be in your own namespace (e.g., Z or Y).
- Use Correct Development Class: Make sure that the development class of the object you are trying to modify is appropriate for your changes. If necessary, create a new object in your own namespace.
- Transport Request: If you are working with transport requests, ensure that the transport layer is set up correctly and that you have the necessary authorizations to make changes.
- Consult Documentation: Review SAP documentation or consult with your SAP Basis or development team to understand the specific restrictions in your environment.
