The SAP error message SP01R072 indicates that a specific spool request is part of multiple composed spool requests. This situation typically arises when a spool request is created as part of a larger document or report that has been split into multiple parts, and the system is unable to process or manage these requests correctly.

    Cause:

    1. Multiple Composed Spool Requests: The spool request in question is linked to multiple composed spool requests, which can happen if the report or document being printed is designed to be split into several parts (for example, when printing a large report that exceeds certain limits).
    2. System Configuration: There may be configuration settings in the SAP system that affect how spool requests are handled, particularly in relation to composed requests.
    3. Concurrency Issues: If multiple users or processes are trying to access or manipulate the same spool request simultaneously, it can lead to conflicts.

    Solution:

    1. Check Spool Request Status: Use transaction code SP01 to check the status of the spool request. Look for any related spool requests that may be causing the issue.
    2. Identify Composed Requests: Determine which composed spool requests are linked to the problematic spool request. You may need to analyze the report or document generation process to understand how the requests are structured.
    3. Reprocess or Delete: If the spool request is not needed, consider deleting it. If it is needed, you may need to reprocess the request or the entire report to ensure it is generated correctly.
    4. Adjust Configuration: If this issue occurs frequently, review the configuration settings related to spool requests and composed requests. Adjusting these settings may help prevent similar issues in the future.
    5. Consult SAP Notes: Check the SAP Support Portal for any relevant SAP Notes or updates that may address this specific error message or provide additional guidance.

    Related Information:

    • Transaction Codes: Familiarize yourself with transaction codes like SP01 (Spool Request Management) and SP02 (Spool Request Overview) to manage and troubleshoot spool requests effectively.
    • SAP Documentation: Review SAP documentation related to spool management and composed requests for a deeper understanding of how these processes work.
    • User Permissions: Ensure that users have the necessary permissions to access and manage spool requests, as permission issues can sometimes lead to errors.
