This can happen for various reasons, including configuration issues or limitations in the number of file names available for the document type.

    Causes:

    1. Exhausted File Names: The system has run out of available PC file names for the specified document type. Each document type in SAP is associated with a certain number of file names, and if all are in use, you will encounter this error.

      • Go to transaction code SO10 (or SOST for sending documents) and check the configuration for the document type you are using. Ensure that there are free file names available.
      • You can also check the number of file names allocated to the document type and see if they are all in use.
    2. Increase the Number of File Names:

      • If the file names are exhausted, you may need to increase the number of file names allocated for the document type. This can be done by a system administrator or someone with the necessary configuration access.
    3. Review Document Type Configuration:

      • Ensure that the document type is correctly configured in the SAP system. This may involve checking the settings in transaction OAC0 (for document types) or related configuration transactions.
