Message text: Change in stock segment needs re-reading of master data, see long text
The master data (BOM and Routing) is read only when you create an order
and execute the master re-reading function. Therefore, when you change a
field in the BOM or in the routing after an order is created, the master
data has to be read again.
The stock segment of a finished product is closely related to the
selection of components and determination of requirement segment of
these components during BOM explosion. Also, the routing selection is
based on the stock segment of the finished product. As a result,
re-reading of master data is mandatory after you modify a stock segment.
The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.
If you modify a stock segment in a production order using in the dialog
mode, choose <LS>Functions -> Read PP Master Data</>.
If you use a BAPI to change stock segment in the production order,
choose <ZK>EXPLODE_NEW</>.
