  • What causes this issue?

If data aging is active in a system, the Document Relationship Browser
generally also accesses the historical data, too, when determining
    linked documents.
These options options allow you to either restrict the DRB
just to reading the current data
("Only from Current Area" option) or
allow the DRB to also read the historical data
    (""All Data"")

The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

The following applies to the setting in question:
only applies to determining the linked documents. When selecting the
source document (for example, in the initial search in transaction
ALO1), you will only see the documents in the current area of the
database (plus those in the Archive Information System, if this option
was selected). Possible exceptions are listed in SAP Note 2288274.
It is valid for all users of the client.
It is only valid for the local system. If relationships across system
borders are determined, the setting in the remote system applies to
    these documents.
If DRB access is limited to the current area, the following restrictions
    can arise:
Relationships are determined only for documents located in the current
area of the database or in the archive.
Linked documents are found but their origin cannot be determined if they
are in the historical part of the database. The origin is specified with
    NF (Not Found).
The display of linked documents in the historical area does not work.
