How To Fix SDEST055 - Logon data changed; specify a new password

SAP Error Message - Details

  • Message type: E = Error

  • Message class: SDEST - Messages for RFC Destinations

  • Message number: 055

  • Message text: Logon data changed; specify a new password

  • Show details Hide details
  • What causes this issue?

A password has already been saved in the specified destination. The user
or client (for connections to SAP systems only) used for logons to the
destination system (or the proxy user) has been changed; you want to
    retain the old password though.
The password cannot be retained, for security reasons.

The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

Specify a new password or initialize the password. When you use function
modules from the function group SDEST_API, the password must be
    initialized (parameter KEEP_PASSWORD = SPACE or KEEP_PROXY_PASSWORD =
SPACE). You can then use the function module DEST_SET_PASSWORD or
DEST_SET_PROXY_PASSWORD to specify a new password.
