- Object &1 &2 does not exist; create it ?The SAP error message SCWN317 indicates that a specific object (identified by the placeholders &1 and &2) does not exist in the system, and the system is prompting you to create it. This error typically occurs in the context of SAP's Supply Chain Management (SCM) or related modules where certain objects, such as master data, configuration settings, or other entities, are required for processing.
Cause:
- Missing Object: The object you are trying to access or use has not been created in the system. This could be a master data object like a material, vendor, customer, or a configuration object.
- Incorrect Configuration: The system may be looking for an object that should have been created as part of a configuration or setup process, but it was missed.
- Transport Issues: If the object was created in a development environment but not transported to the production environment, it may lead to this error.
- Data Deletion: The object may have existed previously but was deleted or archived.
Solution:
- Create the Object: Follow the prompt to create the missing object. You can do this through the relevant transaction code in SAP. For example, if it’s a material, you would use transaction MM01 to create a new material.
- Check Configuration: Review the configuration settings to ensure that all necessary objects are created and properly configured. This may involve checking customizing settings in SPRO.
- Transport Requests: If the object was created in a different environment, ensure that the transport requests are correctly moved to the target environment.
- Consult Documentation: Refer to SAP documentation or help files for the specific object type to understand the required fields and settings.
- Error Logs: Check the system logs or error logs for additional context or related errors that may provide more insight into why the object is missing.
