SCM_MD_R3_PI031
- Category of PUoM for &1 must correspond to cat. of other UoM of same dim. ?The SAP error message SCM_MD_R3_PI031 indicates that there is a mismatch in the category of the Purchase Unit of Measure (PUoM) for a material in relation to the category of other Units of Measure (UoM) that share the same dimension. This error typically arises in the context of materials management and inventory management within SAP SCM (Supply Chain Management).
Cause:
The error occurs when the system detects that the category assigned to the Purchase Unit of Measure does not match the category of other Units of Measure that are defined for the same material. Each UoM is categorized based on its dimension (e.g., weight, volume, length, etc.), and all UoMs for a material must be consistent in terms of their categories.
Solution:
To resolve this error, you can follow these steps:
Check UoM Configuration:
- Go to the material master data for the affected material.
- Check the different Units of Measure defined for the material (e.g., base unit, purchase unit, sales unit, etc.).
- Ensure that the categories of all UoMs are consistent. For example, if the base unit is categorized as "weight," the purchase unit should also be categorized as "weight."
Adjust UoM Categories:
- If you find that the categories are mismatched, you will need to adjust the category of the Purchase Unit of Measure or the other UoMs to ensure they are consistent.
- You can do this in the material master data by navigating to the relevant views (e.g., Basic Data, Purchasing).
Recheck Material Master:
- After making changes, recheck the material master to ensure that the error is resolved.
- You may need to save the changes and reprocess any transactions that were previously failing due to this error.
Consult Documentation:
- If you are unsure about the correct categories or how to change them, refer to SAP documentation or consult with your SAP administrator or functional consultant.
