Message type: E = Error
Message class: S1 - Statistik / SAP-Monitor
Message number: 080
Message text: Max.number of records updated (Refresh to get most recent records)
During the reorganization of statistical data, the statistics records
are read from the sequential statistical dataset and stored in the
performance database MONI in a summarized form. This process is limited
to a maximum number of records. This upper limit was reached in this
collective run.
The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.
If you start your collection run again, the remaining statistics
records are included in the performance database. However, the maximum
number of individual records entered also applies here. The maximum
number can be set in the menu (ST03) <LS>GOTO -> PARAMETERS</> in the
sub-option <LS>REORG PARAMETERS</>.

- Max.number of records updated (Refresh to get most recent records) ?The SAP error message S1080, which states "Max. number of records updated (Refresh to get most recent records)," typically occurs in the context of SAP applications when a user attempts to update or retrieve data, but the system has reached a predefined limit on the number of records that can be processed or displayed at one time.
Cause:
- Record Limit Exceeded: The error is triggered when the number of records being processed exceeds the maximum limit set in the system configuration. This limit is often in place to optimize performance and prevent excessive load on the system.
- Data Volume: The volume of data being handled in a particular transaction or report may be too large, leading to this error.
- Session Timeout: If the session has been inactive for a while, it may not be able to fetch the most recent records.
Solution:
- Refresh the Data: The simplest solution is to refresh the screen or the data view. This can often be done by clicking the refresh button or using the appropriate function key (e.g., F5).
- Limit the Data Set: If possible, apply filters to reduce the number of records being processed. This can include narrowing down the date range, specific criteria, or other parameters to limit the data set.
- Check Configuration Settings: If you have access to system configuration, check the settings related to maximum records allowed for updates or displays. This may require assistance from a system administrator.
- Pagination: If the application supports it, consider implementing pagination to handle large data sets more effectively.
- Session Management: Ensure that your session is active and not timed out. If it has timed out, log back in and try again.
