The SAP error message RU702, which states "An application for posting goods movements is already active," typically occurs when a user attempts to post goods movements (such as goods receipts, goods issues, or transfer postings) while another session or transaction for posting goods movements is already open. This can happen in various scenarios, such as:

    Causes:

    1. Multiple Sessions: The user has multiple sessions open in SAP, and one of them is already processing a goods movement.
    2. Long-Running Transactions: A previous transaction is taking longer than expected, causing the system to lock the goods movement application.
    3. System Configuration: Certain configurations in the SAP system may restrict concurrent postings for goods movements.
    4. User Lock: The user may have inadvertently locked the goods movement application due to a previous error or session hang.

    Solutions:

    1. Check Open Sessions: Ensure that you do not have multiple sessions open that are trying to post goods movements. Close any unnecessary sessions.
    2. Wait for Completion: If another transaction is currently processing, wait for it to complete before attempting to post again.
    3. Log Off and Log Back In: Sometimes, simply logging off and back into the SAP system can resolve session-related issues.
    4. Check for Locks: Use transaction codes like SM12 to check for any locks on the goods movement application. If you find any locks that are no longer needed, you can delete them (if you have the necessary authorizations).
    5. Contact Support: If the issue persists, it may be necessary to contact your SAP support team or system administrator for further investigation. They can check for any underlying issues in the system configuration or performance.
