Message text: SAP Update Task V2: Percentage load for update2 task work process
This value is, along with the average response time in the dispatcher
queue (<ZH>R3UpdateQueueTime</>), a measure of the update system load.
Too high a load can be a sign of too few update work processes. You
should, however, note that too many processes per instance wastes main
memory and means that the system can slow down due to operating system
paging. In that case, increasing the number of update servers would be
appropriate. You should also take account of SAP Note 39412 (How many
work processes to configure)

- SAP Update Task V2: Percentage load for update2 task work process ?The SAP error message RT423 typically indicates an issue with the update task in the SAP system, specifically related to the percentage load for the update task work process. This error can arise due to various reasons, including performance bottlenecks, configuration issues, or problems with the update task itself.
Cause:
- Performance Bottlenecks: High system load or insufficient resources (CPU, memory, I/O) can lead to delays in processing update tasks.
- Configuration Issues: Incorrect configuration of update work processes or insufficient number of update work processes can cause delays.
- Long-running Transactions: If there are transactions that take a long time to complete, they can block the update task.
- Database Locks: Locks on database tables can prevent the update task from processing.
- Network Issues: Network latency or connectivity issues can affect the communication between application servers and the database.
Solution:
- Monitor System Performance: Use transaction codes like ST03N, ST06, or SM50 to monitor system performance and identify bottlenecks.
- Check Update Work Process Configuration: Ensure that the number of update work processes is configured correctly in the instance profile. You can check this in transaction RZ10 or RZ11.
- Analyze Long-running Transactions: Use transaction SM21 to check the system log for any long-running transactions that may be causing delays.
- Database Performance: Check for locks in the database using transaction DB02 or DB01. Resolve any locks that may be affecting the update task.
- Increase Resources: If the system is under heavy load, consider increasing the resources (CPU, memory) allocated to the SAP system.
- Review Update Task Logs: Check the update task logs for any specific errors or warnings that may provide more context on the issue.
