  • What causes this issue?

You have checked the regeneration flag for pattern based templates.

    System Response

If you continue execution, all templates which are based on a
    bi-contentpattern.
E.g. templates created with the Template Wizard. Or a custom pattern
created using the Template wizard concept.
will be regenerated using an XSLT supplied in the System.

The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

In this case: The Pattern xml will be extracted from the template ( and
the rest of the template discarded), the xml will be subsequently
transformed/modified. The result of the transformation will be used as
input to regenerate the template using a System XSLT.
This XSLT must be provided and maintained using SE80 as an common R/3
    Server XSLT.
The type of the pattern is determined from the pattern name: if <(>
<<)>bi:pattern type="PT_ABC" .... is the pattern name of the
template, one of the following XSLT's will be searched for and used if
    present :
    ZRSWAG_PT_ABC (Reserved for customer usage).
    RSWBC_PT_ABC (Business Content)
    RSWAG_PT_ABC
PT_ABC is replaced by the patternname, respectively.
The first such transformation will be used ( if found ). If the first
one found fails, no attempt is made to retry with the subsequent but
the transformation for this template is aborted.
Like all mass alterations, the transformation is performed in the logon
    language and codepage.
Take heed to adapt the transformations if you make changes to the XSLT
transformation used in the Template Wizard.
The Template wizard is an Inhouse SAP Tool used to create BI content.
You may search for information on it in SDN. However, availability of
the tool is subject to change.

    How to fix this error?

Abort the selection if you are unsure about the the consequences or are
not using any of the pattern concepts.
If you are using the framework check that the XSLTs are up to date and
    activated.

  • What is the cause and solution for SAP error message RSWADBACKEND024 - Pattern-based templates will be regenerated; XSLT must be available ?

The SAP error message RSWADBACKEND024 indicates that there is an issue with the regeneration of pattern-based templates in the SAP system. This error typically arises when the system is unable to find the necessary XSLT (Extensible Stylesheet Language Transformations) files that are required for the transformation of data into the desired format.

    Cause:

    1. Missing XSLT Files: The most common cause of this error is that the required XSLT files are missing from the system. These files are essential for the transformation process.
    2. Incorrect Configuration: There may be a misconfiguration in the settings related to the pattern-based templates or the XSLT files.
    3. Transport Issues: If the XSLT files were recently transported from another system, there may have been issues during the transport process that resulted in missing or corrupted files.
    4. Authorization Issues: The user executing the process may not have the necessary authorizations to access the XSLT files.

    Solution:

    1. Check for XSLT Files: Verify that the required XSLT files are present in the appropriate directory. You can check the relevant transaction codes (like SE80 or SE11) to see if the XSLT files are available.
    2. Re-upload XSLT Files: If the XSLT files are missing, you may need to re-upload or recreate them. This can involve retrieving them from a backup or another system where they are available.
    3. Review Configuration: Check the configuration settings related to the pattern-based templates and ensure that they are correctly set up to point to the right XSLT files.
    4. Check Transport Logs: If the issue arose after a transport, review the transport logs for any errors or warnings that might indicate what went wrong during the transport process.
    5. User Authorizations: Ensure that the user has the necessary authorizations to access and execute the XSLT files. You may need to consult with your SAP security team to verify this.
    6. Regenerate Templates: After ensuring that the XSLT files are available and correctly configured, you may need to regenerate the pattern-based templates. This can often be done through the relevant transaction or program in SAP.
