Message type: E = Error
Message class: RSTRAN - Messages for Transformation
Message number: 060
Message text: Rule &1 of transformation &2 (&3) is not valid and is being deleted
Rule &V1& is invalid and is being deleted. The reason for this is that a
field or InfoObject that is used in rule &V1& has been deleted in the
source or target of the transformation &V2& (&V3&).
Another reason could be that a new time-reference characteristic was
selected for an InfoCube with non-cumulative key figures. In this case
you cannot use the rule for the old time-reference characteristic.
The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

RSTRAN060
- Rule &1 of transformation &2 (&3) is not valid and is being deleted ?The SAP error message RSTRAN060 indicates that there is an issue with a specific rule in a transformation. This message typically arises in the context of SAP BW (Business Warehouse) when working with data transformations between InfoProviders, such as when loading data from a source to a target.
Cause:
The error message can be triggered by several factors, including:
- Invalid Rule Definition: The rule defined in the transformation may reference an InfoObject or field that no longer exists or is not valid.
- Changes in Data Model: If there have been changes in the underlying data model (e.g., InfoObjects being deleted or renamed), the transformation rules may become invalid.
- Inconsistent Data Types: The data types of the source and target fields may not match, leading to an invalid transformation rule.
- Missing Source Fields: The source fields that the transformation rule is trying to use may not be available in the source data.
Solution:
To resolve the RSTRAN060 error, you can follow these steps:
Check Transformation Rules:
- Go to the transformation in question and review the rules. Ensure that all fields referenced in the rules are valid and exist in the source and target InfoProviders.
Validate InfoObjects:
- Check if the InfoObjects used in the transformation are still valid. If any InfoObject has been deleted or renamed, you will need to update the transformation accordingly.
Adjust Data Types:
- Ensure that the data types of the source and target fields match. If there are discrepancies, you may need to adjust the transformation rules or the data types in the InfoObjects.
Recreate the Transformation:
- If the transformation is too complex or if there are too many invalid rules, consider recreating the transformation from scratch to ensure that all rules are valid.
Check for Transport Issues:
- If the transformation was transported from another system, ensure that all dependencies (like InfoObjects) were also transported correctly.
Use the BW Modeling Tools:
- Utilize the BW Modeling Tools in SAP HANA Studio or Eclipse to analyze and fix the transformation. These tools often provide better insights into issues with transformations.
