  • Description
For Fact tables of InfoCubes and aggregates, DataStore object tables and
PSA tables this test checks whether the DB2/UDB row compression feature
has been enabled. With row compression, you can save disk space. The
test determines the following informaton related to DB2 UDB row
compression for each table of an InfoProvider or PSA object that is
    eligible to row compression:
Whether row compression is activated or not
The estimated percentage of disk space that could be saved by activating
    row compression
The percentage of rows that are ineligible for compression due to snall
    rowsize
The size of the compresison dictionary
If compression is activated, the percentage of rows compressed
If compression is activated, the average row compression ratio
The test computes some of the information it provides from the results
of the latest collection of statistics. If the database statistics are
not current the results may be imprecise.
    Repairs
This test provides no repair function. Transaction DB6COCKPIT can be
used to activate row compression for tables and generate the compression
    dictionary.
