Message text: BLOB table for large data
If this option is selected, cache entries with query data that exceed
the predefined size limit when initially created are written to the BLOB
table (table with XSTRING). It is preferential to use BLOB tables when
transporting larger data volumes between the database and application
server. However, it is not possible to save in internal tables; this
means that the data export cannot take place in an internal table
instead of an XSTRING, which would actually offer better performance
under some circumstances.

RSRCACHE021
- BLOB table for large data ?The SAP error message RSRCACHE021 typically relates to issues with the BLOB (Binary Large Object) table when handling large data in SAP systems, particularly in the context of the SAP BW (Business Warehouse) or SAP HANA environments. This error can occur when the system encounters difficulties in managing large volumes of data stored in BLOB format, which can affect performance and data retrieval.
Cause
The error can be caused by several factors, including:
- Data Volume: The size of the data being processed exceeds the limits or capabilities of the system.
- Memory Issues: Insufficient memory allocation for processing large BLOBs can lead to this error.
- Database Configuration: The database settings may not be optimized for handling large objects.
- Network Issues: If the data is being transferred over a network, issues such as latency or bandwidth limitations can contribute to this error.
- Corrupted Data: There may be corruption in the BLOB data that prevents it from being processed correctly.
Solution
To resolve the RSRCACHE021 error, consider the following steps:
Increase Memory Allocation: Ensure that the SAP system has sufficient memory allocated for processing large BLOBs. This may involve adjusting parameters in the SAP profile or database settings.
Optimize Database Settings: Review and optimize the database configuration for handling large objects. This may include adjusting settings related to BLOB storage and retrieval.
Data Management: If possible, reduce the size of the BLOB data being processed. This could involve compressing the data or breaking it into smaller chunks.
Check for Corruption: Verify the integrity of the BLOB data. If corruption is detected, you may need to restore the data from a backup or reprocess it.
Monitor System Performance: Use monitoring tools to check for performance bottlenecks in the system that may be contributing to the error.
Consult SAP Notes: Check the SAP Support Portal for any relevant SAP Notes or patches that address this specific error. SAP frequently updates its knowledge base with solutions for known issues.
Engage SAP Support: If the issue persists after trying the above solutions, consider reaching out to SAP Support for further assistance. They can provide more specific guidance based on your system configuration and the nature of the data being processed.
