Message type: E = Error
Message class: RSPC - Process Chains
Message number: 085
Message text: No destination maintained in target client &1 -> Not activated
When activating a process chain, this is checked and scheduled. Both the
checking of a process chain and its scheduling require that
the function is executed in the target client of the import and
the user executing the function has the appropriate authorizations.
This is usually the case for the <DS:SIMG.BWSIMG_ALEUSU01>BW background
user</>
The function can be executed in the target client if an RFC logon occurs
in the target client. An RFC destination must be predefined for this
purpose. This destination is used for logon to the target client from
client 000 during import postprocessing.
This destination does not exist in this system.
The process chain will not be activated, which means that it will not be
checked, scheduled, or saved in an active version. The process chain
will only be adjusted to the local situation (for example, key changes
with objects that are dependent on the source system), and will not be
saved in a modified version.
<DS:SIMG.BW_RFC_BWCLIENT>Create a destination for the import
postprocessing</>.
The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

RSPC085
- No destination maintained in target client &1 -> Not activated ?The SAP error message RSPC085 indicates that there is no destination maintained in the target client for a process chain, and as a result, the process chain cannot be activated. This error typically occurs in the context of SAP BW (Business Warehouse) or SAP BW/4HANA when dealing with process chains that involve data loading or other automated processes.
Cause:
The error is caused by the absence of a defined destination for the target client in the process chain. This means that the system does not know where to send the data or how to connect to the target system for the process chain to execute successfully.
Solution:
To resolve the RSPC085 error, you can follow these steps:
Check Process Chain Configuration:
- Go to the transaction code
RSPC
to access the Process Chain Maintenance.- Locate the process chain that is causing the error.
- Check the settings of the process chain, especially the target client settings.
Maintain Destination:
- Ensure that the target client is correctly defined in the process chain.
- You may need to specify the target client in the relevant process (e.g., data transfer process, data load, etc.) within the process chain.
Check RFC Connections:
- If the process chain involves remote function calls (RFC), ensure that the RFC destination is correctly configured in transaction
SM59
.- Test the RFC connection to ensure it is working properly.
Activate the Process Chain:
- After making the necessary changes, try to activate the process chain again.
- Monitor the activation process for any additional errors.
Review Authorization:
- Ensure that you have the necessary authorizations to maintain and activate process chains.
Consult Documentation:
- If the issue persists, refer to SAP documentation or support notes related to process chains and error RSPC085 for further troubleshooting steps.
