  • Show details Hide details
  • What causes this issue?

During object transfer, a process variant of type "Deletion of Requests
from Write-Optimized DSO (classic)" was transferred to a process variant
of type "Deletion of Requests from DSO (advanced)". In the old variant,
removal of requests that had not yet been delta-transferred to all
further data targets was possible if the "Delta Updated Requests Only"
flag was not checked. In the new variant, this is no longer possible,
because the restriction that requests can only be removed if they are
delta-transferred to all further data targets cannot be overruled for
    DataStore objects (advanced).

    System Response

The process variant transfer has been performed, but in the new variant
requests will only be removed if they are delta-transferred to all
further data targets. This also applies if the "Delta Updated Requests
Only" flag was not checked in the old variant.

  • What is the cause and solution for SAP error message RSODSO_ROLLBACK272 - Flag "Only Delta-Updated Requests" not set for pattern &1 ?

The SAP error message RSODSO_ROLLBACK272 indicates that there is an issue with the delta update process in the context of DataStore Objects (DSOs) in SAP BW (Business Warehouse). Specifically, the message states that the flag "Only Delta-Updated Requests" is not set for the specified pattern, which can lead to inconsistencies or issues during the data loading process.

    Cause:

    The error typically arises when:

    1. Delta Update Configuration: The DSO is configured to handle delta updates, but the flag for "Only Delta-Updated Requests" is not activated. This can happen if the DSO is not set up correctly for delta processing.
    2. Request Handling: The system is trying to process requests that are not delta requests, but the DSO is expecting only delta requests due to its configuration.
    3. Data Consistency: There may be a mismatch between the data being loaded and the expected data format or type, leading to the system rejecting the request.

    Solution:

To resolve the error, you can take the following steps:

    1. Check DSO Settings:

      • Go to the DataStore Object in the SAP BW system.
      • Verify the settings for delta updates. Ensure that the "Only Delta-Updated Requests" flag is set correctly based on your data loading requirements.
    2. Adjust Data Load Process:

      • If you are loading data that is not delta data, consider changing the load process to accommodate full loads or ensure that the data being loaded is indeed delta data.
      • If necessary, modify the data extraction process to ensure that it aligns with the DSO's expectations.
    3. Review Data Requests:

      • Check the requests that are being processed. Ensure that they are correctly marked as delta requests if the DSO is configured to accept only delta updates.
      • If you have requests that are not delta requests, you may need to adjust the DSO configuration or the requests themselves.
    4. Consult Documentation:

      • Review SAP documentation or notes related to the specific DSO and delta processing to ensure that you are following best practices.
    5. Testing:

      • After making the necessary changes, perform a test load to ensure that the error does not occur again.

    Related Information:

    • SAP Notes: Check for any relevant SAP Notes that may provide additional insights or patches related to this error.
    • BW Documentation: Refer to the SAP BW documentation for detailed information on configuring DSOs and handling delta updates.
    • Community Forums: Consider searching or posting in SAP community forums for additional insights from other users who may have encountered similar issues.
