Message text: Time is inconsistent => Non-cumulative handling cannot be switched on
The value of the time consistency flag of the ADSO is 'False'.
Non-cumulative handling can only be switched on for cubes with
consistent times.
The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.
Run the corresponding time-consistency check in transaction RSRV to
check whether the time values are really inconsistent, or whether the
flag is still set because of a previous inconsistency that does not
exist anymore. If there is no inconsistency anymore, the time
consistency flag will be reset by the RSRV check.
If the time values are really inconsistent, please remove all
non-cumulative key figures from the ADSO.

- Time is inconsistent => Non-cumulative handling cannot be switched on ?The SAP error message RSO_RES_ADSO142, which states "Time is inconsistent => Non-cumulative handling cannot be switched on," typically occurs in the context of SAP BW (Business Warehouse) when working with Advanced DataStore Objects (ADSO). This error indicates that there is an issue with the time characteristics in your data model, which prevents the system from enabling non-cumulative handling for the ADSO.
Cause:
Inconsistent Time Characteristics: The error usually arises when the time characteristics in the ADSO are not properly defined or are inconsistent. This can happen if:
- The time dimension is not correctly mapped.
- There are missing or incorrect time attributes in the data.
- The ADSO is set up to handle non-cumulative data, but the time characteristics do not support this.
Data Model Configuration: The configuration of the ADSO may not align with the requirements for non-cumulative data handling. Non-cumulative data typically requires a specific setup of time characteristics.
Solution:
To resolve the error, you can take the following steps:
Check Time Characteristics:
- Review the time characteristics defined in your ADSO. Ensure that they are correctly set up and that all necessary attributes are included.
- Make sure that the time dimension is properly defined and that there are no missing values.
Adjust ADSO Settings:
- If you intend to use non-cumulative handling, ensure that the ADSO is configured correctly to support this. This may involve adjusting the settings in the ADSO definition.
- If the data does not support non-cumulative handling, consider switching off this option in the ADSO settings.
Data Consistency:
- Check the data being loaded into the ADSO for consistency. Ensure that all records have valid time stamps and that there are no discrepancies in the time data.
Re-activate the ADSO:
- After making the necessary adjustments, you may need to re-activate the ADSO to apply the changes.
Consult Documentation:
- Refer to SAP documentation or help resources for specific guidelines on configuring time characteristics and non-cumulative data handling in ADSOs.
