  • What is the cause and solution for SAP error message RSO412 - '&1' '&2' is not active - Texts in the M version have not been translated ?

The SAP error message RSO412 indicates that a specific object (like a query, report, or other data-related object) is not active because the texts in the M version (which typically refers to the multilingual version) have not been translated. This can occur in various contexts, such as when working with SAP BW (Business Warehouse) or SAP BI (Business Intelligence).

    Cause:

    1. Missing Translations: The primary cause of this error is that the object in question has not been fully translated into the required language (M version). This can happen if the object was created or modified in a language that does not have corresponding translations for all texts.
    2. Inactive Object: The object may be inactive due to the lack of translations, which prevents it from being used in reports or queries.
    3. Transport Issues: If the object was transported from one system to another, the translations may not have been included in the transport request.

    Solution:

    1. Check Translations: Go to the relevant transaction (e.g., RSRT for queries) and check if the texts for the object are available in the required language. If not, you will need to provide the necessary translations.
    2. Activate the Object: If the translations are available, ensure that the object is activated. You can do this by navigating to the object in the relevant transaction and activating it.
    3. Use Transaction SE63: Use transaction SE63 (Translation) to manage translations for the object. You can add or modify translations as needed.
    4. Re-transport the Object: If the object was transported, ensure that the transport request includes the necessary translations. You may need to re-transport the object with the correct settings.
    5. Check Language Settings: Ensure that the user’s language settings are correct and that the system is configured to support the required languages.

    Related Information:

    • Transaction Codes: Familiarize yourself with relevant transaction codes such as RSRT (for running queries), SE63 (for translations), and others that may be relevant to your specific SAP environment.
