  • What is the cause and solution for SAP error message RSMIGRATE066 - No automatic migration of deletion of target &1 from package &2 ?

The SAP error message RSMIGRATE066 indicates that there is an issue with the automatic migration of a deletion of a target object from a package. This typically occurs during the migration process when the system is trying to delete or migrate objects that are part of a package, but it encounters a problem.

    Cause:

The error can be caused by several factors, including:

    1. Dependencies: The target object may have dependencies that prevent it from being deleted automatically.
    2. Authorization Issues: The user executing the migration may not have the necessary authorizations to perform the deletion.
    3. Package Locking: The package may be locked or in use by another process, preventing changes.
    4. Configuration Issues: There may be configuration settings that are preventing the automatic deletion of the target object.
    5. Object Status: The object may be in a status that does not allow for deletion (e.g., it may be marked as "in use" or "active").

    Solution:

To resolve the error, you can take the following steps:

    1. Check Dependencies: Review the dependencies of the target object to ensure that there are no other objects that rely on it. If there are dependencies, you may need to address them before attempting the deletion again.

    2. Review Authorizations: Ensure that the user executing the migration has the necessary authorizations to delete objects from the specified package.

    3. Check Package Status: Verify if the package is locked or in use. If it is, you may need to wait until the package is free or unlock it if you have the necessary permissions.

    4. Manual Deletion: If automatic deletion is not possible, consider manually deleting the target object using transaction codes like SE80 (Object Navigator) or SE11 (Data Dictionary) if applicable.

    5. Review Configuration: Check the configuration settings related to the migration process to ensure that they are set up correctly.

    6. Consult Logs: Look at the migration logs for more detailed error messages that can provide additional context on why the deletion failed.
