- Daemon & assigned; cannot start delta/init InfoPackage & ?The SAP error message RSM1349 typically indicates that there is an issue with the Data Transfer Process (DTP) or InfoPackage in the context of data extraction and loading in SAP BW (Business Warehouse). The message suggests that the daemon (a background process) cannot start the delta or initialization InfoPackage.
Causes:
- Configuration Issues: The InfoPackage or DTP may not be properly configured. This could include incorrect settings for the source system, target InfoObject, or data transfer settings.
- Process Chain Issues: If the InfoPackage is part of a process chain, there may be issues with the process chain itself, such as missing or incorrectly configured steps.
- Locking Issues: There may be locks on the data or objects that prevent the daemon from starting the process.
- Background Job Issues: The background job that is supposed to execute the InfoPackage may not be running or may have failed.
- Authorization Issues: The user executing the InfoPackage may not have the necessary authorizations to perform the operation.
- System Performance: High system load or performance issues may prevent the daemon from starting the process.
Solutions:
- Check Configuration: Review the configuration of the InfoPackage and DTP. Ensure that all settings are correct and that the source and target systems are properly defined.
- Review Process Chains: If the InfoPackage is part of a process chain, check the status of the process chain and ensure that all steps are correctly configured and executed.
- Check Locks: Use transaction codes like SM12 to check for any locks on the relevant tables or objects. If locks are found, they may need to be released.
- Monitor Background Jobs: Use transaction codes like SM37 to monitor background jobs. Check if the job related to the InfoPackage is running or has failed, and investigate any errors.
- Check Authorizations: Ensure that the user executing the InfoPackage has the necessary authorizations. This can be checked using transaction SU53 or by consulting with your security team.
- System Performance: Monitor system performance using transaction ST03 or ST04. If the system is under heavy load, consider scheduling the InfoPackage to run during off-peak hours.
