RSM1321
- Maximum number of selections exceeded for InfoPackage & ?The SAP error message RSM1321, which states "Maximum number of selections exceeded for InfoPackage &," typically occurs when the number of selections defined in an InfoPackage exceeds the allowed limit set by the system. This can happen when you are trying to load data into a Data Warehouse or during data extraction processes.
Cause:
- Exceeding Selection Limits: Each InfoPackage has a limit on the number of selections (filters) that can be applied. If you exceed this limit, the error will be triggered.
- Complex Queries: If the InfoPackage is designed to pull data based on multiple complex conditions or filters, it may inadvertently exceed the selection limit.
- System Configuration: The maximum number of selections can be influenced by system settings or configurations that define limits for InfoPackages.
Solution:
- Review and Simplify Selections: Check the selections defined in the InfoPackage. Try to simplify the selections by combining filters or reducing the number of conditions.
- Split InfoPackage: If the InfoPackage is too complex, consider splitting it into multiple InfoPackages, each with fewer selections.
- Check System Settings: Consult with your SAP Basis or system administrator to check if the maximum number of selections can be increased in the system settings. However, this should be done with caution and understanding of the implications.
- Use Variables: Instead of hardcoding multiple selections, consider using variables that can dynamically filter data based on user input or other criteria.
- Testing: After making changes, test the InfoPackage to ensure that it runs successfully without exceeding the selection limit.
