Smart SAP Assistant

  • What is the cause and solution for SAP error message RSM1071 - Deltas already loaded for request &1 init. selection; no 2. init ?

The SAP error message RSM1071 indicates that there is an issue with the data loading process in the SAP BW (Business Warehouse) system. Specifically, it means that delta data has already been loaded for a particular request, and therefore, the system cannot perform a second initialization (2. init) for that request.

    Cause:

    1. Delta Load Already Executed: The error typically occurs when a delta load has already been executed for the data source, and the system is trying to perform another initialization load (2. init) for the same data source.
    2. Incorrect Load Sequence: The sequence of data loading might be incorrect. For example, if you try to load data without first performing a full load or if the initialization process is not completed properly.
    3. Data Source Configuration: There might be issues with the configuration of the data source or the InfoPackage that is being used for the data load.

    Solution:

    1. Check Load Status: Verify the status of the data load in the Data Warehousing Workbench (transaction RSA1). Ensure that the initialization load has been completed successfully before attempting to load delta data.
    2. Perform Full Initialization: If you need to perform a second initialization, you may need to delete the existing delta records and perform a full initialization load again. This can be done by:
      • Deleting the delta queue for the data source.
      • Executing a full load (initialization) for the data source.
    3. Review InfoPackage Settings: Check the settings of the InfoPackage to ensure that it is configured correctly for the type of load you are trying to perform (initialization vs. delta).
    4. Check for Errors in Previous Loads: Look for any errors in previous data loads that might have caused the delta to be incorrectly flagged as loaded.
    5. Consult SAP Notes: If the issue persists, consult SAP Notes or the SAP Support Portal for any known issues or patches related to this error message.

    Related Information:

    • Transaction Codes: Use transaction codes like RSA1 (Data Warehousing Workbench), RSMO (Monitor Data Load), and RSPC (Process Chain) to monitor and manage data loads.
    • Data Source: Ensure that the data source is correctly set up and that the extraction logic is functioning as expected.
    • Documentation: Refer to SAP documentation for detailed information on data loading processes, delta loads, and initialization procedures in SAP BW.

By following these steps, you should be able to resolve the RSM1071 error and successfully load your data into SAP BW.
