  • What is the cause and solution for SAP error message RSM694 - Request & properly ended; no further processing allowed ?

The SAP error message RSM694 ("Request & properly ended; no further processing allowed") typically occurs in the context of the SAP BW (Business Warehouse) or SAP BI (Business Intelligence) environment. This error indicates that a data request has been successfully processed and closed, and no further actions can be taken on that request.

    Cause:

    1. Request Status: The request has already been processed and is in a completed state. This means that the data has been loaded into the target InfoProvider, and the request cannot be reprocessed or modified.
    2. Data Load Process: The error may arise during the data load process when trying to reprocess a request that has already been marked as completed.
    3. Request Management: Attempting to perform operations (like reprocessing, deleting, or modifying) on a request that is not in a state that allows such actions.

    Solution:

    1. Check Request Status: Verify the status of the request in the Data Warehousing Workbench (transaction RSA1) or the relevant InfoProvider. If the request is completed, you may need to create a new request for further processing.
    2. Reprocess Data: If you need to load new data, create a new data load request instead of trying to reprocess the completed one.
    3. Delete and Reload: If the data needs to be corrected, you may need to delete the completed request and then reload the data. Ensure that you follow the correct procedures for deleting requests in SAP BW.
    4. Monitor Data Load: Use transaction RSMO (Data Load Monitor) to monitor the status of data loads and ensure that they are completed successfully.
    5. Check for Errors: If there are issues with the data load, check for any error messages or logs that may provide more context on what went wrong.

    Related Information:

    • Transaction Codes: Familiarize yourself with relevant transaction codes such as RSA1 (Data Warehousing Workbench), RSMO (Data Load Monitor), and RSMO (Request Management).

    • Documentation: Review SAP documentation on data loading processes and request management in BW/BI for best practices and troubleshooting steps.
