The SAP error message RSDS_ACCESS046 indicates that there are duplicate hierarchies in the system, specifically related to versioning and/or time dependency. This error typically arises in the context of SAP BW (Business Warehouse) when dealing with InfoObjects that have hierarchies defined.

    Cause:

    The error occurs when:

    1. Duplicate Hierarchies: There are multiple hierarchies defined for the same InfoObject that have the same characteristics (e.g., same version and time dependency).

    Solution:

To resolve the RSDS_ACCESS046 error, you can follow these steps:

    1. Identify Duplicate Hierarchies:

      • Use transaction RSA1 (Data Warehousing Workbench) to check the hierarchies defined for the InfoObject in question.

    2. Delete or Merge Hierarchies:

      • If you find duplicate hierarchies, you can either delete the unnecessary ones or merge them if applicable.
      • To delete a hierarchy, navigate to the hierarchy in the Data Warehousing Workbench, right-click, and select the delete option.
    3. Check Hierarchy Settings:

      • Ensure that the remaining hierarchy is correctly set up with the appropriate version and time dependency settings.
    4. Transport Changes:

      • If you are working in a development environment, ensure that any changes made are transported to the production environment as needed.
    5. Reprocess Data:

      • After resolving the duplicates, you may need to reprocess the data or perform a data load to ensure that the changes take effect.

    Related Information:

    • Transaction Codes: Familiarize yourself with relevant transaction codes such as RSA1 (Data Warehousing Workbench), RSD1 (InfoObject Maintenance), and RSD2 (Hierarchy Maintenance).
