Message text: Delta state inconsistent in the source system (Delta vs. Init)
In the source system, the request caused the subscription to be
extended. This is the case if the selection condition was bigger than
the previous one or the request is the first delta, i.e. the delta
initialization. In the BW system however, no delta initialization was
triggered, but a delta. This indicates that the delta subscription was
lost in the source system between the previous request and the current
one.
Extraction is stopped, as the data which was already loaded to the BW
system would otherwise be loaded again, causing duplication of data in
the BW.
If you want to re-initialize the DataSource, delete the init-selections
from the infopackage, then start a new init-request. Make sure that you
remove all data which was loaded previously from the downstream BW
datatargets.
If the subscription was deleted by mistake in the source system, execute
an init-simulation after deletion of the init-selections. Note that this
option will cause the loss of all data which was created between the
last delta request and the init simulation request.
The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

RSDS578
- Delta state inconsistent in the source system (Delta vs. Init) ?The SAP error message RSDS578 indicates that there is an inconsistency between the delta data and the initialization data in the source system. This typically occurs in the context of SAP DataSources, particularly when working with SAP BW (Business Warehouse) and the extraction of data from source systems.
Cause:
The inconsistency can arise due to several reasons:
- Delta Initialization Not Completed: If the delta initialization process was not completed successfully, it can lead to discrepancies between the delta and initialization data.
- Data Changes in Source System: If there were changes made to the data in the source system after the initialization but before the delta extraction, it can cause inconsistencies.
- Incorrect Delta Setup: If the delta mechanism is not set up correctly or if there are issues with the delta queue, it can lead to this error.
- Data Deletion: If records that were part of the initialization have been deleted in the source system, it can lead to inconsistencies when trying to extract delta data.
Solution:
To resolve the RSDS578 error, you can follow these steps:
Reinitialize the Delta:
- Perform a new initialization of the DataSource. This involves deleting the existing delta data and reloading the data from the source system.
- In the SAP BW system, you can do this by going to the DataSource and selecting the option to "Initialize Delta".
Check Delta Queue:
- Ensure that the delta queue in the source system is functioning correctly. You can check for any errors or inconsistencies in the delta queue.
- Use transaction codes like
RSA7
to monitor the delta queue.Verify Data Consistency:
- Check the source system for any changes or deletions that may have occurred after the initialization.
- Ensure that the data in the source system matches the data that was initially loaded.
Check for Errors in the Source System:
- Look for any error messages or logs in the source system that might indicate issues with the data extraction process.
Consult SAP Notes:
- Check for any relevant SAP Notes that may provide additional guidance or patches related to this error.
Contact SAP Support:
- If the issue persists after trying the above solutions, consider reaching out to SAP support for further assistance.
