Message class: RSDS - New DataSource
Message number: 213
Message text: Confict with DataSource in source system; postprocessing required
Conflicts with the DataSource in the source system were detected&v1&
when the BI Content version of the BW DataSource was copied.
This does not yet result in the activation being terminated. However,
you can assume that the DataSource will be inactive after replication or
in a data request (a replication is also performed in this case).
To detect and correct the conflict:
Activate the DataSource in the source system again manually (transaction
<DS:TRAN.RSA5>RSA5</>), to copy the version there in the BI Content to
the active version.
<ZH>Note</> that settings that you made might be lost.
Replicate the DataSource in the BW system.
Display the DataSource in the object editing (transaction <DS:TRAN.RSDS>
RSDS</>). If the DataSource has the status <ZK>inactive</>, compare by
choosing <LS>DataSource -> Version Comparison </>the<ZK> active</> and
<ZK> revised</> versions, to detect the differences.
If the version comparison shows a conflict and the DataSource is SAP BI
Content, contact SAP support (component BW-BCT).
You can generally use the DataSource as a workaround by bringing it to
an executable state with <PF>Change</> and <PF>Activate</>. This might,
however, be different from the state defined in BI Content. As a result,
dependent objects (transformation, data transfer process) might become
inactive and need to be adjusted.

RSDS213
- Confict with DataSource in source system; postprocessing required ?The SAP error message RSDS213 indicates a conflict with a DataSource in the source system, which requires postprocessing. This error typically occurs in the context of SAP BW (Business Warehouse) when there is an issue with the extraction of data from a source system, such as SAP ERP or other data sources.
Cause:
The error can be caused by several factors, including:
DataSource Configuration Issues: The DataSource in the source system may not be properly configured or may have been changed after it was initially set up in BW.
Changes in the Source System: If there have been changes to the underlying data structure (e.g., fields added, removed, or modified) in the source system, it can lead to conflicts.
Data Transfer Issues: There may be issues with the data transfer process, such as incorrect settings in the extraction process or problems with the connection between the source system and BW.
Delta Management Issues: If the DataSource is set up for delta extraction, issues with the delta queue or the delta mechanism can lead to this error.
Authorization Issues: Lack of proper authorizations for the user or the system can also lead to conflicts.
Solution:
To resolve the RSDS213 error, you can follow these steps:
Check DataSource Configuration:
- Go to the source system and verify the configuration of the DataSource. Ensure that it is active and correctly set up.
Review Changes in the Source System:
- Check if there have been any recent changes to the data structure in the source system. If so, you may need to adjust the DataSource in BW accordingly.
Reinitialize the DataSource:
- If the DataSource has been changed, you may need to reinitialize it in BW. This can be done by deleting the existing DataSource and creating a new one or by using the "Replicate DataSource" option.
Check Delta Queue:
- If you are using delta extraction, check the delta queue for any inconsistencies. You may need to reset the delta queue or perform a full load.
Check Authorizations:
- Ensure that the user has the necessary authorizations to access the DataSource in the source system.
Monitor the Extraction Process:
- Use transaction codes like RSA3 (for testing DataSource) or RSMO (for monitoring the extraction process) to identify any issues during data extraction.
Consult SAP Notes:
- Check the SAP Support Portal for any relevant SAP Notes that may address this specific error or provide additional troubleshooting steps.
