Message type: E = Error
Message class: RSDS - New DataSource
Message number: 193
Message text: Changes to &1 are not compatible with database
&V1& has been changed in a way that is not compatible with the database
(abbreviated or type changed, for NUMC also made longer) or has been
deleted. If the old version of the DataSource already contains data (in
a downstream consolidation or production system, for example), this old
data can no longer be extracted using a DTP if the DTP demands
extraction by semantic groups.
A new PSA table is generated in a new format. The old data remains in
the old PSA table but in the case described above, can no longer be
extracted using the standard methods.
Before you activate this change (or before you import the change into a
downstream system), make sure that there is no data remaining in the PSA
of the DataSource that has not yet been updated to the InfoProvider
using DTP.
The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

RSDS193
- Changes to &1 are not compatible with database ?The SAP error message RSDS193, which states "Changes to &1 are not compatible with database," typically occurs in the context of SAP BW (Business Warehouse) when there are inconsistencies between the data model in the BW system and the underlying database. This can happen for various reasons, such as changes made to InfoObjects, InfoProviders, or transformations that are not properly reflected in the database.
Causes:
- Inconsistent Metadata: Changes made to InfoObjects or InfoProviders in the BW system that have not been properly activated or reflected in the database.
- Database Structure Changes: Changes in the database structure that are not compatible with the existing BW data model.
- Transport Issues: If changes were transported from one system to another (e.g., from development to production) without proper activation or adjustments.
- Data Model Changes: Modifications to the data model that require a reactivation of the InfoProvider or related objects.
Solutions:
Reactivation: Reactivate the affected InfoProvider or InfoObject. This can often resolve inconsistencies between the BW metadata and the database.
- Go to the Data Warehousing Workbench (transaction RSA1).
- Find the affected InfoProvider or InfoObject.
- Right-click and select "Activate" or "Rebuild" as necessary.
Check for Errors: Use transaction RSMO (Monitor) to check for any errors in the data loading process that might provide more context on the issue.
Database Consistency Check: Run consistency checks on the database to ensure that the structure matches the BW metadata.
- Use transaction RSRV to perform consistency checks on InfoProviders and other objects.
Transport Management: If the issue arose after a transport, ensure that all necessary objects were included in the transport and that they were activated in the target system.
Review Change Logs: Check the change logs for any recent modifications that might have led to the inconsistency.
Consult Documentation: Review SAP notes and documentation related to the specific version of SAP BW you are using, as there may be known issues or patches available.
