Message text: Some ranges defined for model field &1 are ignored
The <ZK>Training </>process does not consider ranges that do not fall
within the minimum and maximum values of the model field. Also, if the
start value of the range is less than the minimum value of the field,
then it is reset to the minimum value. Similarly, if the end value of
the range is greater than the maximum value, it is reset to the maximum
value.
The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.
Redefine ranges so that they fall between the maximum and minimum value
of the field.
Use the <ZK>Show Value Distribution </>option to determine the minimum
and maximum values of the field in the Training data.

RSDME551
- Some ranges defined for model field &1 are ignored ?The SAP error message RSDME551 indicates that some ranges defined for a model field are ignored. This typically occurs in the context of SAP BW (Business Warehouse) when you are working with queries or data models, particularly when defining filters or ranges for characteristics in a query.
Cause:
The error can be caused by several factors, including:
Incompatible Data Types: The ranges defined for the model field may not match the data type of the field in the InfoObject. For example, if you are trying to filter a numeric field with a character range, it will be ignored.
Non-Existent Values: If the ranges specified include values that do not exist in the underlying data, those ranges will be ignored.
Incorrect Field Mapping: If the field in the model is not correctly mapped to the InfoObject or if there are inconsistencies in the data model, it can lead to this error.
Aggregation Issues: If the model field is part of an aggregation and the ranges do not make sense in the context of the aggregation, they may be ignored.
Hierarchy Issues: If the field is part of a hierarchy and the ranges do not correspond to the hierarchy levels, they may be ignored.
Solution:
To resolve the RSDME551 error, you can take the following steps:
Check Data Types: Ensure that the ranges you are defining match the data types of the InfoObjects. If you are filtering a numeric field, make sure you are using numeric values.
Validate Values: Check the values you are using in the ranges to ensure they exist in the underlying data. You can do this by running a query or checking the data in the InfoProvider.
Review Field Mapping: Verify that the field is correctly mapped in the data model. Ensure that the InfoObject is correctly defined and that there are no inconsistencies.
Examine Aggregation Logic: If the field is part of an aggregation, review the aggregation logic to ensure that the ranges make sense in that context.
Check Hierarchies: If the field is part of a hierarchy, ensure that the ranges correspond to valid hierarchy levels.
Test with Simplified Ranges: Try using simpler ranges or fewer ranges to see if the error persists. This can help isolate the problematic range.
Consult Documentation: Refer to SAP documentation or community forums for additional insights or similar issues encountered by other users.
