Message text: Master data activation on database &1. BWA data can differ.
An attribute change run is currently running. See the short text for the
change run ID. This activates master data on the database.
During this time, data read from BWA can differ from data read from the
databse. This is due to the different transmission logic. Until the
master data is fully activated, BWA shows the status prior to
activation. Once activation is complete, the BWA data will be
transmitted too. The data will then be identical again.
The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

- Master data activation on database &1. BWA data can differ. ?The SAP error message RSDDB601 indicates an issue with the activation of master data in the database, specifically related to the Business Warehouse Accelerator (BWA). This error typically arises when there is a discrepancy between the master data in the database and the data in the BWA, which can lead to inconsistencies in reporting and analysis.
Cause:
- Data Inconsistency: The master data in the database may not match the data in the BWA. This can happen if there were changes made to the master data that were not properly propagated to the BWA.
- Activation Issues: There may be issues during the activation process of the master data, which can prevent the data from being updated correctly in the BWA.
- BWA Configuration: Incorrect configuration of the BWA or issues with the BWA itself can lead to this error.
- Data Load Issues: Problems during data loading processes can also cause discrepancies between the database and BWA.
Solution:
- Re-activate Master Data: Try re-activating the master data. This can often resolve discrepancies. You can do this through the Data Warehousing Workbench (transaction RSA1) by navigating to the relevant InfoObject and triggering the activation process.
- Check BWA Status: Ensure that the BWA is properly configured and operational. You can check the status of the BWA using transaction RSRV (Check Table) to identify any issues.
- Consistency Check: Use transaction RSRV to perform a consistency check on the master data and BWA. This can help identify any inconsistencies that need to be addressed.
- Update BWA: If there are discrepancies, you may need to update the BWA. This can be done by executing the relevant data load process again or by using the BWA administration tools.
- Monitor Data Loads: Ensure that data loads are being executed successfully and that there are no errors during the process. Check the logs for any issues that may have occurred during the data load.
- Consult SAP Notes: Check for any relevant SAP Notes that may address this specific error. SAP frequently releases updates and patches that can resolve known issues.
