Message text: The reorganization time is taking longer than expected
BW Accelerator returns a plan for reorganizing the BWA landscape. This
plan is used to estimate how long the reorganization of the BWA
landscape will take. In this instance, the reorganization will take
quite a long time. We therefore recommend reorganizing the BWA landscape
at a later time.

RSDD_ZA026
- The reorganization time is taking longer than expected ?The SAP error message RSDD_ZA026 indicates that the reorganization process for a Data Warehouse (BW) object is taking longer than expected. This can occur during the reorganization of InfoProviders, such as InfoCubes or DataStore Objects (DSOs), and is typically related to performance issues or resource constraints.
Causes:
- Large Volume of Data: The size of the data being reorganized may be larger than anticipated, leading to longer processing times.
- System Performance: The underlying hardware or system resources (CPU, memory, disk I/O) may be under heavy load or insufficient for the task.
- Database Performance: Slow database performance due to locks, long-running queries, or insufficient indexing can contribute to delays.
- Inefficient Data Model: Poorly designed data models or InfoProviders can lead to inefficient processing during reorganization.
- Background Job Configuration: The background job settings may not be optimized for the workload, such as insufficient parallel processing.
Solutions:
- Monitor System Resources: Check the system's CPU, memory, and disk usage during the reorganization process. Use transaction codes like ST03N, ST06, or SM66 to monitor performance.
- Database Optimization: Ensure that the database is optimized. This may include checking for locks, optimizing queries, and ensuring that appropriate indexes are in place.
- Adjust Job Parameters: Review and adjust the parameters of the background job responsible for the reorganization. Consider increasing the number of parallel processes if applicable.
- Data Volume Management: If possible, reduce the volume of data being reorganized at one time. This can be done by breaking the reorganization into smaller batches.
- Check for Locks: Use transaction SM12 to check for any locks that may be affecting the reorganization process.
- Review Data Model: Analyze the data model for inefficiencies. Consider redesigning InfoProviders if necessary to improve performance.
- Increase Timeout Settings: If the reorganization is expected to take longer due to the volume of data, consider increasing the timeout settings for the job.
