Message text: Creation of aggregates for InfoCube & not possible.
The creation of aggregates is not possible. The InfoCube, for which
aggregates should be created, does not contain any key figures that
contain summation, maximum or minimum as an aggregation. As aggregates
can only be crated for these key figures at the moment it is not
sensible to maintain aggregates for the InfoCube.
The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.
Where necessary check the definition of the InfoCubes or the
corresponding InfoObjects. InfoObjects that can be aggregated may still
be missing or their aggregation is not maintained correctly.

RSDD304
- Creation of aggregates for InfoCube & not possible. ?The SAP error message RSDD304 indicates that the system is unable to create aggregates for an InfoCube. This can occur due to various reasons, and understanding the cause is essential for finding a solution. Here are some common causes, solutions, and related information for this error:
Causes:
- Data Model Issues: The InfoCube may have inconsistencies or issues in its data model, such as missing or incorrect characteristics or key figures.
- Data Volume: The volume of data in the InfoCube may be too large, leading to performance issues or timeouts during the aggregation process.
- Missing Authorizations: The user attempting to create aggregates may not have the necessary authorizations to perform this action.
- Technical Settings: Incorrect technical settings for the InfoCube, such as the aggregation level or the settings for the data warehouse, can lead to this error.
- Locks or Active Processes: If there are locks on the InfoCube or if other processes are currently running that affect the InfoCube, this can prevent aggregate creation.
- Inconsistent Data: If there are inconsistencies in the data (e.g., missing master data), it can lead to issues when trying to create aggregates.
Solutions:
- Check Data Model: Review the InfoCube's data model for any inconsistencies. Ensure that all characteristics and key figures are correctly defined and that there are no missing elements.
- Reduce Data Volume: If the data volume is too large, consider reducing the amount of data being processed or creating aggregates for smaller time periods.
- Verify Authorizations: Ensure that the user has the necessary authorizations to create aggregates. Check the roles and permissions assigned to the user.
- Review Technical Settings: Check the technical settings of the InfoCube in the Data Warehousing Workbench (transaction RSA1) to ensure they are correctly configured.
- Check for Locks: Use transaction SM12 to check for any locks on the InfoCube. If there are locks, you may need to wait for the processes to complete or resolve the locks.
- Data Consistency Check: Run consistency checks on the InfoCube to identify and resolve any data inconsistencies. You can use transaction RSRV for this purpose.
- Rebuild Aggregates: If aggregates exist but are not functioning correctly, consider deleting and recreating them.
Related Information:
By following these steps, you should be able to identify the cause of the RSDD304 error and implement a solution to successfully create aggregates for your InfoCube.
