  • What is the cause and solution for SAP error message RSD_TREX607 - BWA index for object '&1' has been created, but has not been filled (yet) ?

The SAP error message RSD_TREX607 indicates that a BWA (Business Warehouse Accelerator) index for a specific object has been created but has not yet been filled with data. This situation can occur in SAP BW environments when the index is set up but the data loading process has not been completed or has encountered issues.

    Cause:

    1. Data Loading Not Completed: The most common reason for this error is that the data loading process for the associated InfoProvider has not been executed or completed successfully.
    2. Index Creation Timing: The index may have been created before the data was loaded into the underlying InfoProvider.
    3. Data Transfer Issues: There may be issues with the data transfer process, such as errors in the data source or problems with the extraction process.
    4. Configuration Issues: There could be configuration issues with the BWA or the InfoProvider that prevent the index from being filled.

    Solution:

    1. Check Data Loading: Ensure that the data loading process for the InfoProvider associated with the index has been executed. You can do this by checking the data load monitor in SAP BW.
    2. Execute Data Load: If the data load has not been executed, run the data load process to populate the InfoProvider with data. This can typically be done through the Data Warehousing Workbench or the process chain that handles the data load.
    3. Monitor Data Load: After executing the data load, monitor the process to ensure that it completes successfully without errors.
    4. Check for Errors: If the data load fails, check the error logs for any issues that need to be resolved. This may involve checking the source system, transformation rules, or data quality issues.
    5. Rebuild Index: If necessary, you can also try to rebuild the BWA index after the data load is complete. This can be done through the BWA administration tools.
    6. Configuration Review: Review the configuration settings for the BWA and the InfoProvider to ensure everything is set up correctly.

    Related Information:

    • Transaction Codes: You can use transaction codes like RSA1 (Data Warehousing Workbench) to monitor and manage data loads and InfoProviders.
    • BWA Administration: Use the BWA administration tools to manage and monitor BWA indexes.
    • SAP Notes: Check for any relevant SAP Notes that may address specific issues related to BWA indexing and data loading.
    • Documentation: Refer to SAP documentation for detailed steps on managing BWA and troubleshooting data loading issues.
