  • Show details Hide details
  • Description
Using this test, you can load all the data for a BWA index from the file
server into the main memory if the data is not already in the main
    memory.
This action is useful if you want to ensure that queries executed in the
corresponding InfoCube achieve optimal performance the first time they
are executed and do not have to read data anew from the file server.
Data for an index is deleted from the main memory, for example, when new
data is added to this index (during roll up or a change run). You can
set the BWA index (by choosing <ZK>BWA Index Properties)</><ZK> </>such
that data is loaded automatically to the main memory every time changes
    are made.
Note that if you do <ZH>not</> specify an InfoCube, the system executes
the selected action for all BWA indexes that are active and filled.
    Repair
    This test has no repair.

  • What is the cause and solution for SAP error message RSD_TREX541 - Load BWA index data into main memory ('&1') ?

The SAP error message RSD_TREX541 typically indicates an issue with loading BWA (Business Warehouse Accelerator) index data into main memory. This error can occur for various reasons, and understanding the cause is essential for finding a solution.

    Causes:

    1. Insufficient Memory: The most common cause is that the system does not have enough memory allocated to load the BWA index data.
    2. Configuration Issues: Incorrect configuration settings in the BWA or the SAP BW system can lead to this error.
    3. Data Volume: Large volumes of data being processed can exceed the memory limits.
    4. System Performance: High system load or performance issues can also prevent the successful loading of data into memory.
    5. Index Corruption: Corrupted indexes can lead to failures when trying to load data.

    Solutions:

    1. Increase Memory Allocation:

      • Check the memory settings for the BWA and increase them if necessary. This can often be done in the BWA configuration settings.
      • Ensure that the server has enough physical memory available.
    2. Optimize Data Volume:

      • If possible, reduce the amount of data being processed in a single request. This can be done by filtering the data or breaking it into smaller chunks.
    3. Check Configuration:

      • Review the BWA and SAP BW configuration settings to ensure they are correctly set up. This includes checking the connection settings and ensuring that the BWA is properly integrated with the BW system.
    4. Monitor System Performance:

      • Use monitoring tools to check the performance of the BWA and the SAP BW system. Look for any bottlenecks or high resource usage that could be affecting memory loading.
    5. Rebuild Indexes:

      • If you suspect index corruption, consider rebuilding the indexes in the BWA. This can often resolve issues related to data loading.
    6. Check Logs:

      • Review the system logs for any additional error messages or warnings that could provide more context about the issue.
    7. Consult SAP Notes:
