  • What causes this issue?

The keys for the InfoObjects are numeric. This means the SIDs can be
generated directly from the keys and do not have to be taken from a
number range object. Thus indexing of this table is not necessary.
However, this step is still necessary because there can be numeric
InfoObjects that have navigation attributes that are not numeric. Then
the master data table for the InfoObject have to be indexed. For reasons
of consistency, this always occurs within the SID table indexing.

  • What is the cause and solution for SAP error message RSD_TREX097 - InfoObject '&1' with SIDCONVERT. No indexing necessary. ?

The SAP error message RSD_TREX097 typically indicates an issue related to the conversion of a SID (Surrogate ID) for an InfoObject in the context of SAP BW (Business Warehouse) and its integration with the TREX search engine. The message suggests that there is no indexing necessary for the specified InfoObject, which can occur for several reasons.

    Cause:

    1. No Data in InfoObject: The InfoObject may not have any data associated with it, which means there is nothing to index or convert.
    2. Incorrect SID Table: The SID table for the InfoObject might be missing or corrupted, leading to issues in SID conversion.
    3. Configuration Issues: There may be configuration issues in the BW system or TREX settings that prevent proper indexing or SID conversion.
    4. Data Model Changes: Changes in the data model or InfoObject structure may lead to inconsistencies that trigger this error.

    Solution:

    1. Check Data: Verify if the InfoObject has any data. If it is empty, there is no need for indexing.
    2. Rebuild SID Table: If the SID table is corrupted, you may need to rebuild it. This can be done through the Data Warehousing Workbench or by using specific transaction codes (like RSD1 for InfoObject maintenance).
    3. Check Configuration: Review the configuration settings for the InfoObject and TREX. Ensure that everything is set up correctly for indexing and SID conversion.
    4. Data Load: If the InfoObject is supposed to have data, ensure that the data load process is functioning correctly. Check for any errors in the data load process that might prevent data from being populated.
    5. Re-indexing: If necessary, you can trigger a re-indexing of the InfoObject. This can often resolve issues related to SID conversion.
    6. Consult Logs: Check the system logs for any additional error messages or warnings that might provide more context about the issue.

    Related Information:

    • Transaction Codes: Familiarize yourself with relevant transaction codes such as RSD1 (InfoObject maintenance), RSCUSTV10 (BW customizing), and RSMO (monitoring data loads).
