RSCV083
- No master data found for characteristic of test described subsequently ?The SAP error message RSCV083 indicates that there is no master data available for a specific characteristic in the context of a query or report. This typically occurs in the context of SAP BW (Business Warehouse) or SAP BI (Business Intelligence) when trying to execute a query that relies on certain characteristics for which the master data is missing.
Cause:
- Missing Master Data: The most common cause is that the master data for the characteristic in question has not been loaded into the system. This could be due to a failure in the data load process or simply because the data has not been populated yet.
- Incorrect InfoObject Configuration: The InfoObject associated with the characteristic may not be properly configured or activated.
- Data Source Issues: The data source from which the master data is supposed to be loaded may have issues, such as incorrect extraction logic or connectivity problems.
- Selection Criteria: The query may be filtering on a characteristic that does not have any corresponding master data entries.
Solution:
- Check Master Data: Verify if the master data for the characteristic exists in the relevant InfoObject. You can do this by navigating to the InfoObject in the SAP BW modeling tools and checking the master data records.
- Load Master Data: If the master data is missing, you may need to load it. This can be done by executing the data load process for the relevant InfoSource or InfoPackage.
- Check Data Load Process: Review the data load process to ensure that it has completed successfully without errors. Check the logs for any issues during the data load.
- Review Query Design: Ensure that the query is designed correctly and that it is not filtering out valid data inadvertently. Check the selection criteria and filters applied in the query.
- Activate InfoObject: If the InfoObject is not activated, activate it in the InfoObject maintenance transaction (e.g., RSA1).
- Check for Data Source Issues: Ensure that the data source is correctly configured and that there are no issues with the extraction process.
