  • What is the cause and solution for SAP error message RSCV065 - Aggregates were deactivated. You must reconstruct them ?

The SAP error message RSCV065 indicates that certain aggregates in the SAP BW (Business Warehouse) system have been deactivated. This typically occurs when there are changes in the underlying data model, such as changes to InfoObjects, InfoProviders, or other related structures that affect the aggregates.

    Cause:

    1. Changes in Data Model: If there are modifications to the InfoObjects or InfoProviders that the aggregates depend on, the system may deactivate the aggregates to ensure data integrity.
    2. Data Load Issues: If there are issues during data loading processes, it may lead to inconsistencies that cause aggregates to be deactivated.
    3. Manual Deactivation: Aggregates can also be manually deactivated by users for maintenance or other reasons.

    Solution:

To resolve the RSCV065 error, you need to reconstruct the affected aggregates. Here are the steps to do this:

    1. Identify Affected Aggregates: Check the details of the error message to identify which aggregates are deactivated.
    2. Reconstruct Aggregates:
      • Go to the SAP BW system.
      • Navigate to the Aggregates section in the Data Warehousing Workbench.
      • Select the deactivated aggregates.
      • Use the option to "Reconstruct" or "Activate" the aggregates. This process will rebuild the aggregates based on the current data model.
    3. Check for Data Consistency: After reconstructing the aggregates, ensure that the data is consistent and that there are no further issues.
    4. Monitor Data Loads: After resolving the issue, monitor subsequent data loads to ensure that the aggregates remain active and that there are no further deactivation issues.

    Related Information:

    • Transaction Codes: You can use transaction codes like RSA1 (Data Warehousing Workbench) to access the relevant areas for managing aggregates.
    • Documentation: Refer to SAP Help documentation for more detailed instructions on managing aggregates and troubleshooting related issues.
    • Performance Considerations: Regularly monitor and maintain aggregates to ensure optimal performance of your BW system. Deactivated aggregates can lead to performance degradation in reporting and data retrieval.

If the problem persists after following these steps, it may be necessary to consult with your SAP Basis or BW team for further investigation into the underlying causes.
