RSBM042
- Request cannot be deleted because of delta in BW system &1 ?The SAP error message RSBM042 indicates that a request in the SAP BW (Business Warehouse) system cannot be deleted because there is an active delta process associated with it. This typically occurs when there are delta records that have not yet been processed or when the request is still being referenced by other processes.
Cause:
- Active Delta Process: The request you are trying to delete is linked to an active delta process. This means that there are changes in the source system that have not yet been loaded into the BW system.
- Data Consistency: SAP BW maintains data consistency, and deleting a request that is still in use could lead to inconsistencies in the data warehouse.
- Request Dependencies: The request may be part of a chain of requests or transformations that are still in progress.
Solution:
To resolve this error, you can follow these steps:
Check Delta Status:
- Go to the Data Warehousing Workbench (transaction code RSA1).
- Navigate to the InfoProvider where the request is located.
- Check the delta status and see if there are any active delta processes.
Process Delta Requests:
- If there are delta requests that are still pending, ensure that they are processed. You can do this by running the delta load again or by monitoring the process chains that may be involved.
Wait for Completion:
- If the delta process is currently running, you may need to wait for it to complete before attempting to delete the request again.
Check Process Chains:
- If the request is part of a process chain, check the status of the process chain. Ensure that all steps have been completed successfully.
Delete Related Requests:
- If there are older requests that are no longer needed and are causing the issue, consider deleting them first, provided they are not required for reporting or analysis.
Use Transaction RSMO:
- You can also use transaction RSMO to monitor and manage the delta processes. This transaction allows you to see the status of delta loads and any related requests.
Consult Logs:
- Check the logs for any additional error messages or warnings that might provide more context on why the request cannot be deleted.
Related Information:
By following these steps, you should be able to resolve the RSBM042 error and successfully delete the request if it is no longer needed.
