  • What is the cause and solution for SAP error message RSAU235 - Data inconsistency for key figure & (&) - Unit 1: & (&), unit 2: & (&) ?

The SAP error message RSAU235 indicates a data inconsistency related to key figures in the context of SAP BW (Business Warehouse) or SAP BI (Business Intelligence). This error typically arises when there is a mismatch in the units of measure for key figures that are being processed or aggregated.

    Cause:

    1. Unit Mismatch: The error usually occurs when two key figures that are supposed to be aggregated or compared have different units of measure. For example, one key figure might be in kilograms while another is in pounds.
    2. Data Load Issues: Inconsistencies can also arise during data loading processes, where data from different sources may not be aligned in terms of units.
    3. Configuration Errors: Incorrect configuration in the InfoObjects or InfoProviders can lead to this inconsistency.
    4. Transformation Issues: If there are transformations applied to the data that do not account for unit conversions, this can lead to inconsistencies.

    Solution:

    1. Check Key Figure Definitions: Review the definitions of the key figures involved in the error. Ensure that they are defined with the same unit of measure.
    2. Data Source Validation: Validate the data sources to ensure that the data being loaded is consistent in terms of units. If necessary, apply transformations to convert units to a common standard before loading.
    3. Transformation Rules: If you are using transformations, ensure that they correctly handle unit conversions. You may need to adjust the transformation logic to ensure consistency.
    4. Data Cleansing: Perform data cleansing to correct any inconsistencies in the data before it is loaded into the InfoProvider.
    5. Reprocess Data: After making the necessary adjustments, reprocess the data load to see if the error persists.
    6. Consult Documentation: Refer to SAP documentation or support for specific guidelines related to the key figures and units involved.

    Related Information:

    • SAP Notes: Check SAP Notes for any known issues or patches related to this error message.
