  • Show details Hide details
  • What causes this issue?

This key figure is of data type 'date field (DATS)' or 'time field
(TIMS)'. The only aggregations allowed for these data types are
'overwritten' or 'minimum' or 'maximum'. The aggregations minimum and
maximum are determined directly with the key figure.
As you have selected an aggregation other than minimum or maximum and
not 'overwritten', 'No update' has been set automatically.

    System Response

The data for this key figure is not updated.

    How to fix this error?

Select 'overwrite' as aggregation type or change the aggregation of the
key figure in InfoObject maintenance in minimum or maximum and
    reactivate the key figure.
You must first delete the InfoCube contents in the InfoCube
maintenance. You can then remove the key figure from the InfoCube and
activate the InfoCube again. The key figure can now be changed.
Activate the changed key figure and transfer the key figure into the
InfoCube. Next activate the InfoCube. You can now call up the update
rules again and maintain the update rules for the key figure.

  • What is the cause and solution for SAP error message RSAU202 - The aggregation "Addition" is not allowed for this data type. ?

The SAP error message RSAU202, which states "The aggregation 'Addition' is not allowed for this data type," typically occurs in the context of SAP BW (Business Warehouse) or SAP BI (Business Intelligence) when you are trying to perform an aggregation operation on a data type that does not support it.

    Cause:

The error is usually caused by attempting to use the "Addition" aggregation method on a characteristic or key figure that is not compatible with this type of aggregation. Common reasons include:

    1. Data Type Mismatch: The data type of the key figure or characteristic you are trying to aggregate does not support addition. For example, you cannot add text or categorical data.
    2. Incorrect Configuration: The InfoObject may be incorrectly configured in the data model, leading to inappropriate aggregation settings.
    3. Aggregation Level: The aggregation level defined in the query or report may not align with the data types of the underlying InfoObjects.

    Solution:

To resolve the RSAU202 error, you can take the following steps:

    1. Check Data Types: Verify the data types of the key figures or characteristics involved in the aggregation. Ensure that you are only using addition on numeric data types (e.g., integers, decimals).

    2. Review Aggregation Settings: Go to the InfoObject settings in the SAP BW system and check the aggregation settings. Make sure that the aggregation method is appropriate for the data type.

    3. Modify Query: If you are working with a query in BEx Query Designer, review the query definition. Ensure that you are not trying to aggregate non-numeric fields using the addition method.

    4. Change Aggregation Method: If the data type cannot be aggregated using addition, consider using a different aggregation method that is appropriate for the data type, such as "Count" or "Distinct Count" for non-numeric data.

    5. Consult Documentation: Refer to SAP documentation or help resources for specific guidance on the data types and their allowed aggregation methods.

    6. Test Changes: After making the necessary adjustments, test the query or report again to ensure that the error is resolved.
