  • What causes this issue?

No mapping is defined for source system &V1&.
With the transport of DataSources the name of the source system is also
transferred. As these names do not normally agree in the test and
productive systems, a name replacement can be defined in table
RSLOGSYSMAP using the view maintenance (transaction SM30). This did not
    happen for source system &V1&t.

    System Response

The import for DataSource &V2& was carried out nonetheless as the
source system is known in the SAP Business Information Warehouse.

  • What is the cause and solution for SAP error message RSAR408 - No mapping defined for source system & ?

The SAP error message RSAR408 indicates that there is no mapping defined for the specified source system in the context of SAP BW (Business Warehouse) data extraction. This error typically occurs when you are trying to extract data from a source system, but the system does not recognize the source due to a missing or incorrect mapping configuration.

    Cause:

    1. Missing Mapping: The source system has not been properly defined in the BW system, or the mapping between the source system and the BW system is missing.
    2. Incorrect Source System Name: The source system name specified in the extraction process may be incorrect or does not match the defined source systems in BW.
    3. Transport Issues: If the source system was recently transported to the BW system, the mapping may not have been included in the transport.
    4. Configuration Issues: There may be issues with the configuration of the source system in the BW system, such as incorrect settings or missing entries.

    Solution:

    1. Check Source System Configuration:

      • Go to the SAP BW system and check the configuration of the source system in transaction RSA1 (Data Warehousing Workbench).
      • Navigate to the "Source Systems" section and ensure that the source system is correctly defined.
    2. Define Mapping:

      • If the source system is not defined, you will need to create a new source system entry.
      • If it is defined but not mapped, you may need to create or adjust the mapping for the source system.
    3. Verify Source System Name:

      • Ensure that the name of the source system used in the extraction process matches exactly with the name defined in the BW system.
    4. Check Transport Requests:

      • If the source system was recently transported, check the transport requests to ensure that all necessary objects were included and successfully imported.
    5. Re-activate DataSource:

      • Sometimes, re-activating the DataSource associated with the source system can resolve mapping issues. You can do this in transaction RSA1.
    6. Check for Authorizations:

      • Ensure that the user executing the extraction has the necessary authorizations to access the source system.

    Related Information:

    • Transaction Codes:
