  • What is the cause and solution for SAP error message RSAR268 - Assignment of InfoSource & (&) cannot be deleted ?

The SAP error message RSAR268 indicates that there is an issue with the assignment of an InfoSource in the context of SAP BW (Business Warehouse) or SAP BI (Business Intelligence). Specifically, it means that the assignment of the InfoSource cannot be deleted due to certain constraints or dependencies.

    Cause:

    1. Active Data Flow: The InfoSource may be actively used in data flows, such as in DataSources, InfoProviders, or transformations. If there are active processes or dependencies, the system will prevent deletion to maintain data integrity.

    Solution:

    1. Check Dependencies: Before attempting to delete the InfoSource, check for any dependencies. Look for:

      • Data Transfer Processes (DTPs) that reference the InfoSource.
      • InfoProviders that are using the InfoSource.
      • Transformations that may be linked to the InfoSource.
    2. Remove References: If you find any dependencies, you will need to remove or deactivate them before you can delete the InfoSource. This may involve:

      • Deleting or modifying DTPs.
      • Adjusting transformations.
      • Ensuring that no active data flows are using the InfoSource.
    3. Check for Open Requests: Ensure that there are no open requests in the data warehouse that are using the InfoSource. If there are, you may need to process or delete those requests.

    4. User Authorizations: Verify that you have the necessary authorizations to delete the InfoSource. If not, contact your SAP administrator to obtain the required permissions.

    5. Use Transaction Codes: You can use transaction codes like RSA1 (Data Warehousing Workbench) to navigate to the InfoSource and check its status and dependencies.

    Related Information:

    • Transaction Codes: Familiarize yourself with relevant transaction codes such as RSA1 for the Data Warehousing Workbench, RSD1 for InfoObjects, and RSPC for process chains.
    • Documentation: Refer to SAP Help documentation for more detailed information on InfoSources and their management.
