  • What is the cause and solution for SAP error message RSAR025 - Only one entry permitted for source system &1 for old objects ?

The SAP error message RSAR025 indicates that there is an issue with the configuration of a source system in the SAP BW (Business Warehouse) environment. Specifically, it states that only one entry is permitted for a source system for old objects. This typically occurs when there are multiple entries for the same source system in the BW system, which is not allowed.

    Cause:

The error is usually caused by one of the following reasons:

    1. Duplicate Entries: There are multiple entries for the same source system in the BW system, particularly for old objects (like InfoObjects, InfoProviders, etc.).
    2. Incorrect Configuration: The source system might have been incorrectly configured, leading to multiple entries being created.
    3. Transport Issues: If the configuration was transported from another system, it might have led to duplicate entries.

    Solution:

To resolve the RSAR025 error, you can follow these steps:

    1. Check Source System Configuration:

      • Go to the SAP BW system and navigate to the source system configuration.
      • Use transaction code RSA1 to access the Data Warehousing Workbench.
      • Under the "Modeling" tab, check the "Source Systems" section to see if there are duplicate entries for the same source system.
    2. Remove Duplicate Entries:

      • If you find multiple entries for the same source system, you need to delete the duplicates.
      • Ensure that you keep the correct and active entry while removing the others.
    3. Check Old Objects:

      • If the error is related to old objects, you may need to check the InfoObjects or InfoProviders that are linked to the source system.
      • Ensure that they are correctly configured and do not reference the deleted or duplicate source system entries.
    4. Transport Management:

      • If the issue arose due to a transport, check the transport logs to identify if any duplicate entries were included in the transport request.
      • If necessary, adjust the transport request to avoid duplicates.
    5. Consistency Check:

      • After making changes, perform a consistency check to ensure that the BW system is functioning correctly.
      • You can use transaction code RSBAS000 to run consistency checks on the BW objects.

    Related Information:

    • Transaction Codes: Familiarize yourself with relevant transaction codes such as RSA1 (Data Warehousing Workbench), RSCUSTV10 (to check settings), and RSBAS000 (for consistency checks).
    • Documentation: Refer to SAP Help documentation for detailed guidance on configuring source systems and managing BW objects.
    • SAP Notes: Check for any relevant SAP Notes that might address specific issues related to RSAR025 or provide additional troubleshooting steps.

By following these steps, you should be able to resolve the RSAR025 error and ensure that your source system configuration is correct.
