Message number: 402
Message text: Filter for time reference char. '&1' in node '&2' is not there or invalid
A non-cumulative key figure was selected in an InfoProvider data source.
The downstream filter required in this case for the reference
characteristic of time aggregation (&V1&) is missing or contains errors.
Either one interval or a list of single values must be specified in the
filter.
For compound characteristics, each higher-level characteristic must be
restricted to exactly one single value.
It is not possible to execute the analysis process. The data for the
InfoProvider data source can only be displayed on the downstream filter.
For more information, see the <DS:DE.RSAN_WB_DS_INFOPROV>documentation
for the InfoProvider data source</>.
Change the definition of the analysis process. Specify a filter for the
time reference characteristic "&V1&" an. The filter must either contain
either an interval or a list of single values.
The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

RSAN_RT402
- Filter for time reference char. '&1' in node '&2' is not there or invalid ?The SAP error message RSAN_RT402 indicates that there is an issue with a time reference characteristic in a data flow or transformation process within SAP BW (Business Warehouse). Specifically, the error states that the filter for the time reference characteristic (denoted as
&1
) in the specified node (denoted as&2
) is either missing or invalid.Cause:
- Missing Time Reference Characteristic: The time reference characteristic that is expected in the data flow or transformation is not defined or is missing from the data model.
- Invalid Configuration: The configuration for the time reference characteristic may be incorrect, such as an incorrect mapping or an invalid value.
- Data Source Issues: The data source from which the data is being extracted may not contain the expected time reference characteristic.
- Transformation Logic: There may be issues in the transformation logic that processes the data, leading to the absence of the required time reference characteristic.
Solution:
- Check Data Model: Verify that the time reference characteristic (e.g., 0CALYEAR, 0CALMONTH) is correctly defined in the InfoObject and is included in the relevant data model (e.g., InfoCube, DSO).
- Review Transformation Settings: Go to the transformation that is causing the error and check the mapping for the time reference characteristic. Ensure that it is correctly mapped and that the source field is valid.
- Validate Data Source: Ensure that the data source being used contains the time reference characteristic. If it is missing, you may need to adjust the data source or the extraction logic.
- Check Filters: If there are filters applied in the data flow or transformation, ensure that they are correctly set up and that they reference valid values for the time reference characteristic.
- Test Data Flow: Run a test of the data flow or transformation to see if the error persists. This can help identify if the issue is with specific data or a broader configuration problem.
