Message text: InfoCube has inconsistent table layout
Fact and dimension tables of InfoCubes must be consistently
row-organized or column-organized. You are getting this error message
because only some of the tables are column-organized, whereas others are
row-organized. This combination is an invalid table layout.
The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.
Decide whether the InfoCube should be row-organized or column-organized.
Use program <NP>DB6CONV</> to convert the InfoCube to the desired table
organization. For more information about <NP>DB6CONV</>, see SAP Note
1513862.
If you cannot solve the issue using <NP>DB6CONV</>, open a customer
ticket on component BW-SYS-DB-DB6.

- InfoCube has inconsistent table layout ?The SAP error message RS_DB_DB6610 indicates that there is an inconsistency in the table layout of an InfoCube. This can occur due to various reasons, such as changes in the InfoCube structure, issues during data loading, or inconsistencies in the metadata.
Causes:
- Changes in InfoCube Structure: If the InfoCube structure has been modified (e.g., adding or removing characteristics or key figures) without properly adjusting the underlying database tables, inconsistencies can arise.
- Data Loading Issues: If there were errors during data loading processes (e.g., during the extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) process), it could lead to inconsistencies in the data model.
- Metadata Issues: If the metadata in the SAP BW system is not synchronized with the actual database tables, it can lead to discrepancies.
- Transport Issues: If changes were transported from one system to another (e.g., from development to production) without proper adjustments, inconsistencies may occur.
Solutions:
- Check the InfoCube Structure: Verify the structure of the InfoCube in the SAP BW system. Ensure that the characteristics and key figures match the underlying database tables.
- Rebuild the InfoCube: If the structure is inconsistent, you may need to rebuild the InfoCube. This can be done by:
- Deleting the InfoCube and recreating it (ensure you have backups and understand the implications).
- Using the "Repair" function in the InfoCube maintenance transaction (if available).
- Check Data Loading Processes: Review the data loading processes to ensure that they are functioning correctly. Look for any errors in the data load logs and resolve them.
- Activate the InfoCube: Sometimes, simply reactivating the InfoCube can resolve inconsistencies. This can be done in the InfoCube maintenance transaction.
- Use the BW Administration Tools: Utilize the BW administration tools to check for inconsistencies and perform necessary repairs. Tools like the "Consistency Check" can help identify issues.
- Transport Consistency: If the issue arose after a transport, ensure that all related objects were transported correctly and that there are no missing components.
